Kaisa urban renewal business started in 1999 when the group was founded. In 2011, to adapt to the trend of rapid expansion of business development scale, Kaisa Group concentrated superior resources to set up the first professional urban renewal company in China-- Kaisa Real Estate Development (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. With the nationwide deepening of the strategic layout and continuous development of the business, Kaisa Real Estate Group was founded in 2013, which marks the group operation of urban renewal business. In 2015, against the background of richer connotations of urban renewal, an increasingly standardized industry and accelerated projects, Kaisa Real Estate Group was renamed Kaisa Urban Renewal Group.
After nearly 22 years of unswerving research and investment in the field of urban renewal, following the pace of continuous evolution and upgrading of China's urbanization, Kaisa Urban Renewal Group timely adjusted its strategic positioning of urban renewal into an “urban public service provider”. Relying on Kaisa Group's layout and professional advantages in diversified industrial sectors, Kaisa Urban Renewal Group creates a pattern for the coordinated development of urban renewal and industrial operation, supporting operation, wealth management, cultural tourism and property operation, and builds a whole-chain industrial ecosystem covering planning and design, industrial resources integration, development and construction, investment operation, industrial financial services, to help with local industrial upgrading. At the same time, the group also makes every effort to ensure the construction of public service facilities such as education, medical care, culture and sports, as well as affordable housing, so as to enhance the social value of the projects, realize urban renewal and benefit all parties.
As of 2020, Kaisa Urban Renewal Group had over 50 million ㎡ of land reserves for urban renewal projects.The annual land supply is about 800,000㎡. The group has more than 930 employees who are proficient in investment estimation, planning and design, policy research, business negotiation and other professional skills, with more than 5 years of professional experience on average. The group’s urban renewal business focuses on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strategically locates in more than 10 core cities nationwide. The business involves the Reconstruction of old towns, villages, factories and unfinished buildings. Now nearly 40 urban renewal projects have been created, including Kaisa City Plaza (Shenzhen), Beijing Kaisa Plaza, Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay.
